In Mods, Scott Knaster opens up application bundles, property lists, Automator, XCode and
Quartz Composer.
With Hacks, we learn about Badger, a dynamic Dock manipulator, building Widgets, , John
Vink's Top Tunes widget, Video Desktop (processing camera input into a real time Mac OS X
desktop) , taking advantage of the Services menu using TextFiler by Mark Dalrymple, XMLing
Spotlight, and using Commando by Shane Looker, that puts an Aqua face on Unix shell
commands and finally both mach_override and mach_inject by Jonathan Wolf Rentzch that
dynamically overrides apps.
The source codes are listed and those can also be downloaded from the website.
If you want to dig deeper into tips, mods and hacks that make difference, Scot Knaster has done
an excellent job compiling and presenting a few of those for us.
